Bio
Ju-Hyung Son received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2001, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Seoul National University, in 2003 and 2008, respectively.
He was a Visiting Scholar with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, IL, from 2004 to 2005. He was a Chief Research Engineer with Future IT Convergence Lab, LG Electronics, Seoul, from 2008 to 2012. He is currently a Research Fellow with the WILUS Institute of Standards and Technology, Inc. He has participated as a Delegate in many standardization bodies, such as the NFC Forum, Zigbee Alliance, IEEE 802.11, and ISO/IEC MPEG. His current research interests include IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN and efficient video coding technologies. He served as a Vice Chairman for the NCI Task Force in NFC Forum, from 2005 to 2006.
