个人简介
Juan Pedro Mellinas is Assistant Professor of Marketing at University of Murcia(Spain). He has previously worked as a professor at UNIR (a leading privateuniversity in online teaching), the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT)and at the Defense University Center (San Javier). He also has extensiveprofessional experience in private companies from 1999 to 2016.
His research interests are focused on tourism satisfaction and User GeneratedContent (UGC) using online reviews in websites like Booking.com orTripAdvisor as main data source. His research highlights the usefulness of usergenerated content in the internet, in the specific field of online reviews about accommodation. But, probably, the most prominent of his research is focusedon describing, questioning and criticizing the current online review collection systems in the tourism field. On the one hand, he has described the controversies that the use of different scales and methodologies can create incapturing and presenting information. On the other hand, he has highlighted the subjectivity of these reviews and, to a certain extent, their questionable reliability in the measurement of some items.
His articles have appeared in Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management and Toursim Review, among other journals. He has more than 30 publications in the last 10 years, including papers in academics journals, book chapters and contributions to national and international conferences.
