Bio
Juan Carlos Viera Pérez (M'03) was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1969.
He received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Technology, Havana, in 1992 and the Ph.D.
degree in electrical engineering from the University of Oviedo, Gijón, Spain, in 2003.
He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of
Oviedo. His research interests include battery testing, fast charging, and battery management systems.
