So why this drive to push it by professional associations and guideline committees?”—and pre-diabetes—“What is pre-diabetes? Does it exist? If it does why is its definition being expanded way beyond the data points, and is the pressure behind trying to get people on treatment for pre-diabetes anything to do with the pharmaceutical industry?”
