Joshua King received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He was a Research Scientist with the Climate Research Division, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Toronto, ON, Canada. He led the field program that enabled this study to be carried out and was instrumental in the early formulation of this work. He was a leader in radar remote sensing of snow. His research interests included the development of field and remote sensing methods for the characterization of snow properties on land and sea ice.
