Bio
Jose Luis Martin-Ventura was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1975. He received the degree at Complutense University and the Ph.D. degree from the Autonoma University of Madrid, in 1998 and 2003, respectively. In 2004-2005 he made a phD fellowship in the unit 698 from the INSERM (Paris). After that, he returned to Autonoma University, where he obtained a Ramon y Cajal contract.
He is mainly interested in vascular research, involving both atherosclerosis and abdominal aortic aneurysm disease. His main line of research is the role cell stress proteins in atherothrombosis. In addition, in the last 15 years, he has applied proteomic technologies to human vascular cells and tissues in the search of novel biomarkers of atherothrombosis.
