Research interests
Dr José Iria is interested in building new bridges between optimisation theory and power systems through the reserach and development of new analytical tools for the optimisation of power systems. Specifically, his research interests include the development and application of optimisation theory to the following topics:
Electricity markets;
Aggregators and virtual power plants;
Integration of distributed energy resources (e.g., photovoltaic systems, energy storage systems and electric vehicles);´
Large-scale integration of renewable energy resources;
Distribution network planning and operation;
Impact of climate change in power systems;
Planning and operation of smart homes;
Autonomous electric vehicles.
