Bio
José Germano is specialized in electronics systems design and development, focused in embedded systems for acquisition and processing of biosignals and in IoT systems for automotive applications. In his master thesis developed a platform for DNA recognition using a magnetoresistive biochip and continued this work in his Ph.D. The developed embedded system, based on a DSP, performs the conditioning and acquisition of multiple biosignals and real-time processing.
As Co-Founder and head of R&D electronics of Magnomics, has been working in the full integration of a DNA analysis system into a commercial Point of Care device for the rapid identification of bacteria, having designed and implemented algorithms for processing biosignals in real-time and ultra-low noise/drift acquisition electronic circuits. At INESC-ID his work also tackles Medtech biosensing applications, both hardware and processing. He have also been working in IoT automotive applications for remote data collection, navigation and sensing, having prototyped 3 generations of the device and managed its industrial production. During his work, developed, prototyped, and patented innovative advanced signal processing techniques, novel high throughput acquisition and processing biosensing platforms and novel hybrid CMOS biochip architectures.
