He has pioneered work in simultaneous imaging and localization of unmanned aerial vehicles in GPS-denied environments using Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). In addition, he is a recipient of prestigious awards including the Charles Sharpe Beecher Prize and the IMechE UK Award for contributions to decentralized data fusion for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles. Moreover, he has published over 100 peer-reviewed research papers, with citations exceeding 3,000, and secured research funding exceeding two million dollars. He was engaged in the organization of the Australasian Conference in Robotics and Automation (ACRA) from 2009 to 2015 and served as associate editor for IEEE/ICRA and IEEE/IROS journals.
