Jonathan Lao

Jonathan Lao is Associate Professor at the Universite Clermont Auvergne, Polytech school of engineering and Laboratoire de Physique de Clermont, where he leads research on new biomaterials for bone repair. He currently focuses on bioactive glasses and organic–inorganic hybrids obtained at ambient temperature, and has started related programs on additive manufacturing and industrial translation of these materials. His research also includes characterization of the bone - implant interface using nuclear microprobes (Ion Beam Analysis), with a special focus on trace elements and their role on osteogenesis. He is the author of ca. 30 papers, 5 patents and raised >1.5 M€ research funds.
