个人简介
Jonas Schröder is a physiotherapist and researcher who aims to translate fundamental knowledge about neuroplasticity into rehabilitation strategies for people after stroke to improve their balance control and avoid falls. This likely requires a substantial increase in the amount and intensity of task-oriented training. Therapeutic robots may facilitate delivery of these intensities, but current robotic designs appear ineffective. What prevents us from optimizing post-stroke recovery?
He is a PhD fellow at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and currently receives personal funding from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) to conduct his doctoral research on the recovery of standing balance and walking after stroke. His special interest lies in instrumented movement analysis to better understand adaptive motor control in people with stroke - and changes therein due to sensorimotor recovery of an intervention.
