个人简介
John Rollo is an Honorary Fellow with the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at Deakin University. With a focus on place making and the perception and visualization of the built environment, he has provided public sector based Architecture and urban design research for most of his academic career. He is an honours graduate of the Deakin School of Architecture and Built Environment, and holds qualifications at both Master’s and Doctorate levels from the Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning at University of California, Los Angeles, and the Martin Centre for Land Use and Built Form Studies at Cambridge University. John has facilitated and coordinated the 'Urbanheart Surgery', an urban design studio which helps to generate discourse on contemporary urban issues between governments, communities, the design professions and higher education. This program has facilitated twenty five design forums with nine municipalities in regional Victoria and Metro Melbourne, and has contributed in-kind support to the value of over $980,000 of informed ‘place making’ developed by over 1500 students to local and state government departments for the benefit of Victorian communities.
