Bio
Research: We study cell membrane dynamics in health and disease. Our work focuses on how endosome dysfunction contributes to understanding Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. We also work on how endomembranes determine host-parasite interactions of intracellular parasites such as microsporidia. Another focus is the development of higher throughput assays for nanoparticles using electron microscopy methods (LDL and exosomes). We measure exosomes and lipoproteins found in droplets of body fluids as markers of Parkinson's disease, urinary tract cancers and cardiovascular disease.
