Bio
My research is seed-based and comprises different approaches to the impact of climate change on seed production and quality; a search for biocontrol microbes carried in/on seed; and, using seed as a delivery mechanism for microbes which better equip plants to cope with biotic and abiotic stress. I have successfully led a team which discovered and developed (i) a bacterium as a biocontrol agent for the seed-borne disease of brassicas black rot, and (ii) the discovery of a bacterium for the control of the brassica insect pest diamondback moth.
