Hans Kaanders specializes in head and neck cancer, skin cancer and endocrine cancers. He was PI of the “ARCON larynx carcinoma trial”, a Dutch multicenter randomized trial exploiting the combination of accelerated radiotherapy with oxygenation modification for advanced larynx carcinomas. Currently he is the PI of the “UPGRADE trial” that is exploring the safety of dose de-escalation to the elective neck target volume using FDG-PET/CT-based radiation treatment planning. Related translational research interests include tumor microenvironment, tumor hypoxia, functional imaging and radioimmunotherapy.
