Bio
Jörg-Uwe Pott received the Diploma and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Cologne, Cologne, Germany, in 2003 and 2007, respectively.
He held a temporary post-graduate and a post-doctoral research positions with the European Southern Observatory, Munich, Germany, the W. M. Keck Observatory, Waimea, HI, USA, and the University of California at Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, USA. He has been the Max-Planck Institute for Astronomy, Heidelberg, Germany, since 2009, as a Tenured Astronomer and an Instrument Scientist. His current research interests include exploring the environments of black holes and planets by creative use and improvements of adaptive optics and interferometric observing methods and related technologies.
