Joe Tekli received the PhD degree in computer science from the University of Bourgogne (UB), LE2I CNRS, France, in 2009, awarded with Highest Honors. He is an assistant professor in the ECE Department, Lebanese American University (LAU). He has completed three postdocs from the University of Milan, Italy, in Fall 2009, the University of Shizuoka, Japan, in Spring 2010, and from ICMC, Univ. of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil, in 2010-2011. He has also conducted multiple visiting research missions in the University of Pau and Adour Countries (UPPA), France, between Fall 2012 and Fall 2015. He received various prestigious fellowships: French Ministry of Education (France), Fondazione Cariplo (Italy), JSPS (Japan), FAPESP (Brazil), and AUF (France). His research covers XML; MM data semantics, data-mining, and information retrieval. He has coordinated and participated in various international and national research projects, including CEDRE (2012-13), STICAmSud (2013-14), and CNRS Lebanon (2016-2017). He has more than 30 publications in various prestigious journals and conferences including: IEEE TSC, WWW J., Elsevier JWS, Elsevier Info. Sciences, Elsevier CS Review, IJWSR, IEEE ICWS, EDBT, ER, WISE, ADBIS, SBBD, COMAD, ICWE, SOFSEM, etc. He is a member of the IEEE and ACM SIGAPP, and an organizing member of various international conferences such as IEEE ICWS, AIAI, SITIS, ACM MEDES, etc.
