Joana Lopes is a psychologist and post-doctoral researcher at inED - Center for Research and Innovation in Education at Escola Superior de Educação do Porto. In this context, she conducts different research activities, seeking to understand in depth the processes involved in the socio-emotional development of preschool children, combining her background in developmental psychology and neurosciences and adapting it to the educational context. She completed her PhD in Psychology in 2021 from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto. Her dissertation, entitled "Emotional and developmental pathways of infant-mother attachment", resulted from a longitudinal research project that involved the follow-up of 50 mother-infant dyads and their families over two years, starting in the first hours of life. of the newborn. Using a multidisciplinary approach, it studied the predictors of mother-infant attachment and its correlates throughout the first year of life, adopting methodologies and instruments from different theoretical fields, such as Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Neurosciences and Affective Neurosciences, using behavioral, physiological, observational, attention and visual processing/eye-tracking, developmental, and neuronal activity/fmri measures.
