Bio
João António Soares de Almeida. Holder of a PhD in Chemistry, specialising in Macromolecular Chemistry, from the University of Coimbra. He received 2 academic awards from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra. Pos-doctoral Fellow in 2 research projects. Invited Assistant Professor for 4 years in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Coimbra. Co-supervised 1 PhD thesis and 3 MSc dissertations. He is currently co-supervising 2 PhD theses. Researcher in more than 30 funded projects (13 still ongoing). Over 40 manuscripts published in scientific journals, conference proceedings and books. More than 50 communications in scientific meetings. Integrated member of the Coimbra Chemistry Centre. Scientific Supervisor of the "Testing Unit" at Itecons since 2012. Head of the section "Energy and Environment" of the "Testing Unit" at Itecons since 2013. Responsible for managing facilities and Information Technology at Itecons since 2015. Head of the section "Sustainability" of the "Consulting Unit" at Itecons since 2021. He currently works in the area of sustainable construction, with emphasis on green infrastructures and eco-efficient materials.
