He is awarded with fellowship from five leading professional and academic societies, including ASHRAE, CIBSE, HKIE, ISIAQ and IBPSA.
With a specialized expertise in Computation Fluid Dynamics(CFD)/Numerical Heat and Mass Transfer(NHT), Jianlei’s research activities span a wide spectrum of areas related to real life issues in built environment and energy efficiency. These include indoor air quality, control of infectious diseases spread, advanced built environment control technologies for thermal comfort and modern datacenters. Jianlei has successfully supervised over twenty PhD students and post-doctoral fellows. His more recent activities have been more focused on developing cross-boundary research programs, ranging from developing thermal energy storage materials to developing simulation methodologies for factoring outdoor wind and thermal comfort in urban planning.
