Bio
Jessica is a Senior Research Fellow and NHMRC Emerging Leadership (EL1) Fellow at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, the University of Sydney. She is the Editor-in-Chief of JSAMS Plus, an Associate Editor at the British Journal of Sports Medicine and a Cardiac Research Fellow at Cricket Australia.
Jessica’s PhD (University of Sydney) was awarded without emendation in November 2020, for which she received the Peter Bancroft Prize for Research. She also has a Master of Public Health, and Bachelor of Economics / Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) all from the University of Sydney. Jessica became a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) in 2019.
Jessica’s research focuses on sports cardiology, cardiac screening and best practice implementation (including atrial fibrillation screening and cardiac screening of athletes), injury surveillance and sports injury prevention. She is also interested in the legal and ethical aspects of screening, and how the law can be used to promote health policy objectives.
