My research interests lie in connecting human activities and how they may change due to climate and/or policy to the sources and fate of atmospheric pollutants. As an EPA scientist I have made progress in the following areas: (1) Development of mechanistic models to connect land use change with the sources, fate, biogeochemical feedbacks, and ecosystem exposure of atmospheric pollutants. (2) Developing field and laboratory experiments to evaluate and develop model pollutant emission and deposition algorithms. (3) Connecting human agricultural activity and soil nitrogen geochemical cycles to air-quality and atmospheric exposure in regional and global scale models.
