Environmentally friendly and cost efficient processes attract continuously growing interest for organic synthesis and energy production. In this context, catalysis gives incredebly valuable answers to invent a greener society.
In 2007 I received my PhD in Chemistry from the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland). The main aim of my PhD work in the Süss-Fink group at was to develop efficient catalysts in aqueous solution, especially for transfer hydrogenation of ketones and imines to give an environmentally friendly access to alkaloids via asymmetric catalysis in water.
In 2007 I joined the Itami group at Nagoya University (Japan) as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow in order to develop new earth-abundant molecular systems able to catalyze the heterobiaryl coupling via direct CH activation, enhancing the cost efficiency of the process applied to drug synthesis.
In 2009, I joined as postdoc the group of Engineering and Process Intensification at the Institute of Researches on Catalysis and Environment of Lyon (IRCELYON) in order to develop new catalysts based on Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOF), expanding the field of applications of promising porous crystalline materials.
In 2010, I was appointed CNRS Scientist at IRCELYON where I am currently developping new catalytic systems exploiting the confinement of molecular species into the cavities of MOF and Porous Organic Polymers in order to obtain enhanced activities and innovative selectivities with heterogenized molecular catalysts.
In 2018, I received the Young Researcher Award from the Catalysis Division of the French Chemical Society, jointly with C. Chizallet (IFPEN).
My team develop new catalytic systems answering current challenges in fine chemicals synthesis and clean energy production by unravelling novel molecular catalysts and heterogenizing within Porous Macroligands, a concept we established for synergistically bridging homogeneous and heterogenous catalysis.
