Bio
I hold a Ph.D. in Marine Science from Stony Brook University.
I am broadly interested in ecological connections between the plankton and the benthos, having worked mainly in estuaries. My research has focused on the role of shellfish in benthic-pelagic coupling and the modulation of harmful algal blooms.
I currently focus on microphytobenthos ecology and organism-sediment interactions in estuarine settings.
Besides academic research, I have vast experience in education at the Collegiate level, and expertise in public outreach and communication of scientific issues.
