He is a past chairperson of the National Academies' Committee on Radio Frequencies (CORF). He has received six NASA Group Achievement Awards, NASA’s Exceptional Achievement Medal, Exceptional Engineering Achievement Medal, and Outstanding Leadership Medal. His research interests include mission architecture design, microwave radiometry and technology development to enable the next generation of microwave sensors.
