Bio
Jayshri Sabarinathan (S'95–M'04) received the B.S.E. degrees in electrical engineering and engineering physics and the M.S.E and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1997, 1999, and 2003, respectively.
She is currently with the University of Western Ontario, London, ON, Canada. Her Ph.D. research involved the earliest demonstrations of electrically injected quantum dot photonic crystal (PC) microcavity light source, novel 2-D PC-based microfluidic sensors and single-step epitaxial techniques to fabricate 3-D GaAs-based PCs. Her current research interests include PC and plasmonic devices for nanoscale environmental and biological sensors and optical communication applications. She has extensive nanofabrication experience working at the Solid State Electronics Laboratory (SSEL), University of Michigan, and the National Science Foundation-funded Cornell Nanoscale Science & Technology Facility (CNF).
She is a member of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), the National Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society—Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), and the Engineering Honor Society—Tau Beta Pi (TBP). She received the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada University Faculty Award (UFA), in 2004.
