His leadership roles have included serving as President of the Board of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) from 2009-2012. Dr. Hoffman has also served on the Board of the USA Bobsled and Skeleton Federation. Dr. Hoffman has published more than 335 scientific articles and chapters in peer-reviewed journals and has written 11 books. In addition, Dr. Hoffman has lectured at more than 585 national and international conferences and meetings. Dr Hoffman is a fellow of both the American College of Sports Medicine and the NSCA. Dr. Hoffman’s research efforts have focused on examining exercise and nutrient intervention on increasing resiliency to various stresses, including nutrient intervention for healthy aging. Dr. Hoffman has been quite active as a coach and sport science consultant. Presently, he serves as the Head Coach for the Israel National American Football Team. Dr. Hoffman has also served as sports science consultant for a variety of professional sports teams, including the Orlando Magic of the NBA, the Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers of MLB, and the Dallas Stars of the NHL.
