Bio
Jay W. Dawson (M’88) received the B.S. degree in physics from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, in 1988, and the Ph.D. degree in applied physics from California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, in 1993.
He was with 3M Company and Cidra Corporation, where he was engaged in product development in fiber lasers, optical fiber sensors, and fiber Bragg gratings. He is currently with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, CA, where he is engaged in the field of fiber laser systems.
