Bio
Javier Rodríguez was born in Valencia (Spain) in 1977. In 2004, he completed his degree in Industrial Engineering (specialising in electricity) at the “Universitat Politècnica de València” (UPV), where he finished his PhD studies in Industrial Engineering and Production programme in 2021. After working in the private sector for almost a couple of years, he has been working at the Institute for Energy Engineering Research, where he participated in the design and development of one of the first advanced energy management systems for large consumers (co-author intellectual property of the UPV) within a project funded by the UPV (2007-2013) during its implementation in the Vera Campus. In the same period, he also collaborated as a partner in founding one of the first spin-off companies of the UPV (2007), dedicated to providing energy services from the cloud. Additionally, he has participated in multiple international (USA, Europe and South America) and national research and consultancy projects with public and private funds. Among all these projects, the following ones stand out as reference projects: EU-DEEP (EU), DRIP (EU), DROP (USA) and Analysis for the implementation of smart grids in Ecuador (SA). His areas of interest and knowledge are Demand Management, Smart Grids, Electric Vehicle Charging Management, Energy Markets, Quality of Electricity Supply, and Energy Efficiency and Management.
