Bio
Javier Ortún-Terrazas is Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (2021) from the University of Zaragoza and has completed post-graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering (2016) and R&D&I Management in the company (2019) after obtaining his degree in Industrial Design Engineering and Product Development (2015). His doctoral thesis was carried out at the Aragon Institute for Engineering Research (I3A) within the Biomaterials Group (GBM). Javier has worked in the area of Mechanics of Continuous Media and Theory of Structures at the University of Zaragoza, linked to research projects (2015-2017) and as a collaborating professor (2017-2021). He is actually working as R&D technician in Multiphysics and Multiscale Simulation as part of the Materials Group at the Technological Institute of Arago (ITAINNOVA) and as a professor at the International University of La Rioja (UNIR). He is the author of 9 JCR articles in high-impact international journals and has participated in national and international conferences. Javier is specialized in multi-scale modeling of the mechanical behavior of materials and multiphysics simulation of manufacturing processes. His area of work at ITAINNOVA is numerical methods for the simulation of material transformation processes, and more specifically discrete particle methods (DEM), as well as the application of artificial intelligence and the digital twin in industry.
