个人简介
Dr Ivanusic received his PhD from Monash University in 2002. He has since been appointed to academic teaching and research positions at University of New South Wales (2002-2005) and University of Melbourne (2006-ongoing).
His teaching interests are in topographical anatomy, but his research has a strong neuroscience focus. Early research activity was focused on understanding sensory-motor control mechanisms and involved projects investigating the function of the cerebellum in relation to motor control (PhD with Prof. Malcolm Horne) and the neural mechanisms of tactile and kinaesthetic sensations (Postdoctoral period with Emeritus Prof. Mark Rowe). More recently, research interests have focused on understanding the function of peripheral sensory neurons that mediate pain, and those that provide the CNS with information about changes in temperature and mechanical sensitivity. This involves studies of the sensory nerve supply of the cornea, exploration of bone, joint and trigeminal pain, and pain management using ultrasound guided nerve blocks.
