She was chair of many national committees including the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section of Endocrinology, Children’s workgroup of the National Diabetes Education Program, the Diabetes in Youth committee, and President of the Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES). She was also selected to serve on the AAP Committee on Nutrition, was an author on the School Guide (Helping the Child with Diabetes Succeed in School), was a member of the Clinical Practice committee of the American Diabetes Association, was on the Decision skills committee for maintenance of certification for the American Board of Pediatrics and writing committee for the Pediatric Endocrinology sub board of the ABP, and was on the Wellness committee for the Alachua County school district.
