Bio
Janet is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the BetterStart Child Health and Development Research Group, within the School of Public Health, Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, at The University of Adelaide. She has worked with population health surveys since 1998, and from 2000 to 2002, assisted with research within the Diabetes Clearing House and the establishment of the Gestational Diabetes Mellitus Recall Register. She was the Study Coordinator of the North West Adelaide Health (NWAH) Study from April 2002 to May 2015, and the South Australian Consumer Experience Surveillance System (SACESS) Coordinator from December 2012 to November 2016. Janet’s current work involves study management activities and the analyses of linked child protection, perinatal, hospital, child and family health, education and development data on SA children born from 1999 onwards. Her wider work includes the preparation and dissemination of study results via reports, publications and conference presentations. She has an undergraduate degree in Library & Information Studies from the University of South Australia, and a Master in Public Health from The University of Adelaide. In 2018, she received conferral for her PhD which explored parental body shape and its influence on the body shape and health of their adult offspring, including perception of body shape and mortality.
