Bio
Janene (Jae) R. Brown MPH, (she/her) is a doctoral candidate in Epidemiology at Drexel Uinversity in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her doctoral research focuses on examining the association between income/earnings, income inequality, and injury risk. She is interested in investigating how the operational definition of income can affect our ability to detect significant associations in injury risk among various demographic groups. Janene is experienced analyzing time-to-event data, and conducting survival studies. Her other research interests include studying how the built environment influences cardiovascular health and residential stability among older adults, and how neighborhood change and structural racism are associated with diabetes prevalence. Janene received her Master's degree in Public Health in 2014 from Drexel University, and her Bachelors of Arts with Honors from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
