Jan Igel received the Diploma (M.Sc.) degree in geophysics from Karlsruhe University (KIT), Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree in geosciences from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in 2007. He joined the Geoelectrics and Electromagnetics Department, Leibniz Institute for Applied Geophysics (LIAG), Hannover, Germany, in 2001. His current research interests include ground-penetrating radar (GPR) development and application in hydrogeophysics, sedimentology, paleoseismology, soil science, and landmine detection. Dr. Igel is also a member of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) and the German Geophysical Society (DGG).
