个人简介
Much of my research has been to understand the processes driving animal populations, working primarily on birds, and often within a conservation science context. As Director of Science at the British Trust for Ornithology I am responsible for providing strategic leadership of the science of the organisation.
In the last ten years I have particularly focussed on the subject of climate change. I lead the BTO’s research in this area to document the impacts of climate change on biodiversity, undertake projections of future climate change impacts on species' distributions and abundance, and to inform the development of climate change adaptation (http://www.bto.org/science/climate-change). I also work on the impacts of renewable energy, particularly wind farms, upon biodiversity. I have also worked extensively on upland birds in the UK, and on waders (shorebirds).
