个人简介
James Helal researches the relationship between life cycle assessment, computational design and the structural optimisation of buildings. His current focus is on the development of software tools and complex computer models that enable the automation and integration of embodied carbon assessment into the early stage structural design of tall buildings.
His interest in structural optimisation was provoked by his industry experience and structural engineering education at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Melbourne. More recently, this interest has expanded into parametric modelling and environmental assessment to create integrated design approaches and frameworks as part of his PhD studies under the supervision and guidance of Dr André Stephan and Dr Robert Crawford.
