Bio
Dr. Rajeswaran (Raj) Jagadeesan is a Research Scientist in the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (QDAF), Australia. He has strong academic background in agricultural science, especially entomology and molecular biology. Raj started his career within QDAF in 2011, after completing his PhD at the University of Queensland, and has since worked on several internal and externally funded projects. On this journey, Raj has significantly broadened his research experience to include pest and resistance diagnosis, genetics, characterizing and evaluating fumigants, and laboratory development and field validation of fumigation protocols. Currently, he is evaluating the effectiveness of an alternative fumigant, sulfuryl fluoride (SF) on its own and in combination with other fumigants. Raj has attended several conferences, nationally and internationally and published key findings of his research in high profile journals including Science, Genetics, Pest Management Science and Heredity.
