Bio
I am a Lecturer and ARC DECRA research fellow at James Cook University, Townsville, Australia. My research seeks to understand how morality and moral norms shape environmental governance and adaptation to environmental change in coastal communities. My work is interdisciplinary, drawing on human geography, development studies, and environmental sociology.
Previously, I studied sociology at the Australian National University (2012), an MPhil in Environment, Society and Development at the University of Cambridge (2014), and a PhD in environmental social science at James Cook University (2019). My PhD project investigated the multiple values of ecosystem services and environmental justice in coastal communities in Papua New Guinea. Between 2019 and 2022 I was a postdoctoral research fellow with the ARC CoE in coral reef studies and WorldFish.
