My research centres around the impact of spatial and temporal environmental variability on the dynamics of aquatic and terrestrial populations and communities, with particular focus on the combined impacts of climate change and anthropogenic disturbances. This has included studies of both plants and animals in arctic, temperate and tropical systems, but currently I mostly work on understanding how underwater noise and habitat alterations influence populations of marine mammals.
