Oceanographer (State University of Rio de Janeiro - 1985), obtained a Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from University of Bordeaux I (France) in 1990 and accomplished a post-doctoral fellowship in Applied Analytical Chemistry at University of Pau, France (1999). Presently, holds a Full Professor position at the University Federal Fluminense and Coordinates the UFF Network of Environment and Sustainable Development (REMADS-UFF), where has been developing research in environmental problems, particularly focused on the dynamics of pollutants. Coordinated interdisciplinary teams to carry out environmental impact assessments, environmental monitoring programs and has dealt with stakeholders and private/public companies in the search for new technologies for the solution of environmental problems.
