Bio
Jan Vobecký (Senior Member, IEEE) received the M.S.Eng. degree the Ph.D. degree in microelectronics, and the Dr.Sc. degree from Czech Technical University, Prague, Czech Republic, in 1981, 1988, and 1999, respectively.
He was an Associate Professor in 1992 and a Full Professor in electronics in 2000. Since 2007 and 2018, he has been, respectively, a Principal Engineer and a Senior Principal Engineer with ABB Switzerland, Lenzburg, Switzerland, and Hitachi Energy, Lenzburg.
Dr. Vobecký was the President from 2002 to 2003 and the Vice President from 2004 to 2006 of the Region 8 CS Section IEEE. From 2006 to 2010, he was the SRC Vice-Chair of the IEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society (EDS). Since 2016, he has been an Editor of IEEE EDS Newsletter. From 2015 to 2018, he served on the Power Devices and ICs Technical Committee of the IEEE EDS. From 2018 to 2021, he was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Electron Device Letters.
