Research Interest
• Food chemistry: Chemistry of volatile compounds - development of methodologies, aroma properties, and biological effects. Development of methodologies for extraction and analysis of volatile compounds and several secondary bioactive metabolites from different food or food-related matrices (SPME, SPE; MEPS, GCO, GC-MS; LC-MS; UHPLC);
• Medicinal Chemistry and Metabolomics: validation of analytical approaches that may provide the biochemical basis to study pathologies or can be implemented as a diagnostic tool based on urine, saliva, and exhaled breath matrices as non-invasive sampling strategies. Volatomics and urinomics studies related to breast, lung, and colorectal cancers.
