To address our research, we assume that, durability over time of a building, is given by their vulnerability and the risk of any type that is submitted. Finding a procedure that allows us to identify and measure potential key factors that influence vulnerability and risk, we propose an approximate and compared with other properties always uncertain life of the building.
After studying various methodologies at the prediction of events, we focus on fuzzy set theory (Fuzzy set), as most appropriate tool to address the problem that we solve, with the help of an expert group to define impact factors. Following the application of the theory we propose a model called FBLS (Fuzzy building service life) gives us a result with reasonable margins of error, when fixing a specific date as the limit of life of the building.
