个人简介
I am working as a Research Scientist and as a Group Leader (SUrface Science and NAnostructure Group) at Center for Materials Under eXtreme Environment (CMUXE), school of nuclear engineering, Purdue University, since May 2013. I have extensive experience in (but not limited to) surface science and epitaxy, heteroepitaxial growth of self-assembled nanostructures, nanomagnetism, spintronics, magnetoresistance (MR), nanoscale thin film & multilayers, 2D-materials (single layer materials), ion beam induced synthesis, modification & analysis of materials, laser & plasma material interactions, and nuclear-fusion.
To the date, I have authored and co-authored over 69 publications ( 50 international research publications, one book, over 15 scientific volume/conference proceedings), 20 talks (mainly international conference/workshop, including 3 invited), and more than 36 posters. Before joining Purdue, I was a postdoctoral fellow at Tel Aviv University, Israel (January 2009- March 2013) and Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, India (January 2007- December 2008). I was also a visiting scientist at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, Germany (June - September 2008). I completed my Ph.D. in Physics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, in 2006. I am the member of American Physical Society (APS), Materials Research Society (MRS), The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), and Sigma Xi, the scientific research society as well.
My synergistic activity involves reviewing scientific articles and mentoring students. I like reviewing very much since it always establishes my expertise in the field and expands my knowledge, provides intellectual satisfaction, creativeness, and demystifies the academic publishing process. Also doing this I always stay up to date with the latest literature, and have advanced access to research results. Additionally, it also improves my reputations and exposures to the key figures in my favorite research fields and develops my critical thinking skills which are essential part for any fair research. Up until now I reviewed over 155 scientific articles and several research books. I am also a frequent reviewer for National Science Foundation (NSF), and The Pazy Foundation (joint foundation established by the Israeli University Planning and Budgeting Committee (UPBC) and the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC)) Grants. Additionally, I chaired several symposium sessions and contributed as a judge in several scientific competitions for undergraduate and K-12 level students.
