Bio
Dr. Juan J. Hernández is full professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM, Spain) since 2011. Previously, he was associate professor at the same university. His research has been mainly focused on both diesel combustion and emissions (with particular attention to the use of sustainable fuels) and on combustion/gasification of solid biofuels. He enjoyed a post-doc position (2003) under a Marie Curie Individual fellowship grant at the University of Birmingham (UK, hosted by Prof. M. Wyszynski), a visiting professor stay (2016) at the Engine Research Group of the University of Toronto (Canada, hosted by Prof. J. Wallace) and a sabbatical (2021-2022) at the Way Automotive Lab of the University of Michigan (USA, hosted by Prof. A. Boehman). He has been guest editor for special issues from international journals, Associate Editor of the gold open access journal Results and Engineering (Elsevier), reviewer for numerous high-ranking journals and member of the Spanish Biomass Technology Platform for Bioeconomy (BIOPLAT). Regarding university management, he has been Vice-chancellor for infrastructures and relations with companies at the UCLM (2008-2011) and responsible of the UCLM-ELCOGAS chair (University-Company chair) from 2011 to 2016.
