个人简介
Javier Fernández Lozano studied geology at the University of Madrid (UCM), Spain, and continued with his Ph.D. in Structural Geology and Tectonics in the Utrecht University, The Netherlands. He is also a research member of the Spanish Geosciences Institute (IGEO), associated to the CSIC.
Javier is an expert in cartography, remote sensing, and laser 3D, obtaining diplomas in topography and photogrammetry by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain). He also obtained the title of UAV pilot by the European Aviation College of Salamanca and is certified as unmanned aircraft operator by the Spanish Air Safety Agency (EASA). At present, he works as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Salamanca since 2013, dedicated to Geographical Information Systems, remote sensing and the study of the geological processes responsible for the formation of mountains in the Iberian Peninsula using techniques based on 3D laser, spectral analysis, and gravimetry. His research activity has been awarded several scholarships and awards of recognized international prestige, being his work published in high impact journals. During the past few years has been carrying out an intense work in science diffusion topics with the topography, photo-interpretation of the terrain and GIS applications.
