Bio
Jacob Hinkle received the B.S. degree in physics and the B.S. degree in mathematics from Miami University, Oxford, OH, USA, both in 2006, and the Ph.D. degree in bioengineering from The University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, USA, in 2015. His Ph.D. work focused on statistical modeling of shape change with applications in medical imaging.
He worked as a Research Scientist with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, applying mathematical and statistical methods to biological imaging and data analysis problems. He is currently a Research Scientist with the Computational Sciences and Engineering Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Oak Ridge, TN, USA. His research interests include novel approaches to mathematical modeling for image analysis, tomography, and Bayesian deep learning.
