Bio
J. Carl Kumaradas received the M.A.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical physics from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, in 1993, 1996, and 2002, respectively.
He was a Post-Doctoral Associate of biophysics with the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, NM, USA, from 2002 to 2004. Since 2004, he has been an Assistant Professor and then an Associate Professor with the Department of Physics, Ryerson University, Toronto. He worked on microwave-based thermal therapy as an adjuvant for radiotherapy during his graduate studies and magnetic nanoparticle-based thermal therapy during his postdoctoral work.
