Research field:
Ion adsorption by radioactive tracers.
Compared radiolysis (pulsed and stationary) of non aqueous polar solvents:
Liquid ammonia, anhydrous hydrazine, amines, hydrogensulfide, dimethylsulfide, ethers, tetrahydrofuran.
Radiolytic formation of stable solvated electrons in liquid ammonia.
Physical and chemical properties of solvated electrons, and radical species.
Recombination electron-cation models as a function of the dielectric and chemical properties of liquids.
Photoionization of dimethylsulfide : competition between electron solvation and attachment.
Transient photocurrents at semiconductor- polar liquid interface.
Metal and semiconductor clusters:
Nuclearity-dependent redox and absorption optical properties of clusters, distinct from the bulk metal or semiconductor.
Radiolytical synthesis of mono- and multimetal clusters, alloyed or core-shell, in subcolloidal solutions, supported on oxides, embedded in polymer membranes, in zeolites or mesoporous solids.
Carbonyl metal molecular clusters synthesized by irradiation. Reduction mechanism.
Nucleation and growth mechanisms, Development by radiolysis combined with chemical reduction, Photographic-development mechanism. Applications to catalysis, non linear optics, photography.
